Night Classes – Spring Term February 2022
OPEN EVENING including registration will be on
MONDAY 24th JANUARY from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in North Connaught College (socially distanced).
Please note that payment has to be completed before the first class commences and it can either be by cash or cheque.
Night Classes
Would you like to complete a module or two for the Health Service Skills qualification? Learn computers? Or train in make up skills?
If so, we are offering a variety of evening classes at North Connaught College of Further Education commencing on the 7th February 2022.
It is hoped that all classes will be onsite, but we will keep you updated on this.

Computers – Beginners
Are you interested in knowing how to use a computer? Creating and saving documents in Microsoft Word? Changing the layout of a document? Looking up information on the internet? Well this is the class for you and you will also learn in a fun environment, no pressure, no stress.
Computers – Intermediate
Now that you have mastered the basics of computer work, let the Tutor take you to the next level. Developing deeper skills in Microsoft Word and the Internet. You will learn advanced formatting skills and how to negotiate the internet.
Care of the Older Person
QQI Level 5 certified class. Required module for anyone wishing to work in elder care. The objective of the Care of the Older Person module is to guide you to understand and demonstrate good work practices in the provision of care for older people and understand the concept of the ageing process. You will also learn to satisfy the needs of older people in a variety of care settings and enhance the quality of life for the older person.
Lámh
This is sign language learning taught in a fun and informative way. This is a one day course where you are taught the basics of Lámh and are also equipped with 100 signs so that you can develop your skills further.
Make Up Skills
Would you like to know how to apply both day and evening make up? This class is being taught by Marcella, a make up artist who has worked with Magee clothing on photoshoots. She has her own make up artistry business and is also very successful within the bridal industry.
Special Needs Assisting
QQI Level 6 certified class. Do you wish to complete a module which will allow you to become a Special Needs Assistant? The purpose of the Special Needs Assisting module is to equip you with the knowledge, skill and competencies in the theory and practice underpinning the education and care of those who present with special educational needs and to enable you to assist in the provision of this education and care.
Work Experience
QQI Level 5 certified class. Required module for anyone wishing to work in Healthcare. The purpose of the Work Experience module is to equip the learner with the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to participate in the workplace for a limited time, carrying out work-related tasks independently while under general direction.
